How did you start your journey as an event specialist?
I’ve been with Quinta Mazatlan for 3 years now, but I started as part of the front desk staff. I could not believe that I was born and raised in the Valley and had never been to such a beautiful place as Quinta Mazatlan. It really was love at 1st sight! Over the past 3 years, I’ve been truly blessed to be part of so many beautiful weddings.
A favorite memory/experience during an event?
I have to say the parents of the couples! I love to get to know the parents of the bride and groom. It gives such an endearing perspective to the event. For me, being able to witness the journey of a parent, helping plan their child’s wedding. That has touched my heart on several occasions.
Your top advice for engaged couples:
HAVE FUN!!!!!!!! Planning your wedding should be absolute and complete fun! Do not allow the details to become burdens. Let details be sprouts of discovery as you go along. Welcome opinions but make your own decisions. Your wedding should be perfect on your very special day!
Things you love:
*My family – I’m happy married to the most wonderful man on earth and we have 3 beautiful little girls.
* Dolphins – I finally got to touch one two summers ago and I just died! I adore dolphins and just think they are the most beautiful and graceful creature ever. Swimming with them is on my bucket list. HA!
*Cerulean Blue – my favorite color. Anything in cerulean blue, clothing, jewelry, it’s just such a beautiful color.
Things that bug you:
*Lizards – I have a petrifying fear of lizards. All lizards, large or small I can’t tolerate them. It’s especially hard working at a nature center.
*NFC East – Being the true Cowboy fan that I am, I really don’t like running into a NY Giants fan right after a Cowboy loss on a Monday night (which happens a lot unfortunately) But I love my Dallas Cowboys! GO COWBOYS!
*Turning away a bride because we’re booked. It’s always a bitter sweet moment for me when you know the outcome could have been beautiful but then you know that you’re turning them away because you already have someone for that day and that brings joy and excitement in the knowing that this event will be beautiful as well. I wish I could have all these girls get married here but alas that just the way it is.
Thank you so much Mary for being part of this feature!
